2010: A Good Year For Neanderthals (And DNA) by... →
This year was a good year for Neanderthals. Yes, they did go extinct about 30,000 years ago, but scientists now say their genes live on — in us. Scientists also found a 40,000-year-old finger in a Siberian cave that apparently belonged to an unknown human-like creature. And hair from the corpse of a 4,000-year-old hunter revealed his blood type and a predisposition for baldness.

Martin Luther King: A Christmas Sermon On Peace
Did you ever stop to think that you can’t leave for your job in the morning without being dependent on most of the world? You get up in the morning and go to the bathroom and reach over for the sponge, and that’s handed to you by a Pacific islander. You reach for a bar of soap, and that’s given to you at the hands of a Frenchman. And then you go into the kitchen to drink your...

An Excerpt from Martin Luther King's Christmas...
More than a million people sleep on the sidewalks of Bombay every night; more than half sleep on the sidewalks of Calcutta every night. They have no houses to go into. They have no beds to sleep in. As I beheld these conditions, something within me cried out: “Can we in America stand idly by and not be concerned?” And an answer came: “Oh, no!” And I started thinking about...

As time ticks away
As time tick down and we get closer to the end of another year I start to take inventory of the meaning of my days of 2010. I flash images and scenes in my mind,  and either smile or wonder what went wrong. I think I got more right than wrong this year  making a few hard choices  because those are usually the one’s u most need to make. I have wondered a lot about the world and the...
